Job Description:
Media and Entertainment Partner
Join a thriving L500, multi-service law firm in London that has doubled its size and tripled its turnover in four years. With revenues rising from £8 million to £24 million, the firm attracts top talent from leading City and mid-town firms, increasing headcount from 45 to over 100.
Supported by strong leadership and a solid financial base, the firm aims to double again in five years, focusing on growth in staff and profitability. As a 25-year-old, first-generation firm, they maintain high staff retention, with many lawyers staying over a decade.
The firm invests in cutting-edge technology to support its fee earners. They offer merit-based rewards with competitive compensation that reflects individual performance.
Their client list includes Premier League and WSL players, world boxing champions, Olympic and Commonwealth athletes, F1 drivers, top cricketers, professional golfers, major football agencies, and international brands.
The culture is collegiate and entrepreneurial, emphasizing mentorship, career development, and progression, with many senior lawyers and partners developed internally.
The role
The firm seeks a Media and Entertainment Partner for their City of London office.
* You will join an established team of three in the media and entertainment department, working closely with the corporate commercial team.
* The department handles both contentious and non-contentious work; the Head of Department is open to candidates from either background that can complement the team. The department is currently busy and thriving.
* You will serve a diverse client base, including actors, producers, writers, directors, game creators, content creators, influencers, models, musicians, and publishers. Work includes sponsorship agreements, film financing, reputation management, endorsements, merchandising, contracts, licensing, and breach of contract.
* You will be part of a dynamic, friendly, and passionate team dedicated to media law.
* You will co-lead the department with the other partner, mentoring and developing team members, and contributing to strategy, planning, and business development.
* This role is suitable for an ambitious senior associate seeking career progression, possibly into a top-heavy team.
* Applicants should be Media and Entertainment Lawyers with at least 7 years PQE; experience level is flexible, and candidates from both contentious and non-contentious backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
* Salary will be competitive and based on experience.
