P&L Recruitment are working exclusively with our rapidly expanding client based in North Lanarkshire to recruit a full-time, permanent Assistant Accountant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded in a timely manner while managing one member of staff in accounts payable. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experience Assistant Accountant to progress their career with a successful organisation. Responsibilities: Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals Reconcile expenses Reconcile credit card payments Bank reconciliations VAT Return preparation Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review Assisting with month end duties Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards Manage the subcontractor ledger, including invoice posting and compliance checks (CIS, reverse VAT knowledge essential) Verify subcontractors’ CIS status and insurances Handle email and phone queries from subcontractors and surveyors Managing the payroll which is outsource and checking holiday pay Management and development of a team member Ad hoc duties as required Requirements: Previous Accounts Assistant experience is essential Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices Highly proficient skills in Excel Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable liaising with stakeholders across the business Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously My client offers an attractive salary for the right person, generous holidays and a yearly bonus and the opportunity for career progression.
