We're looking for a Head Chef for the Greyhound in Carshalton - a pub is proud to sit at the centre of the community. Our food offer is all about taking traditional pub classics, firm favourites and comfort food and elevating them using fresh, seasonal ingredients. We're looking for a people-focused Head Chef who is passionate about developing and nurturing their team and has experience working in a 100% fresh food kitchen. Volume experience is essential - we are a popular food destination both with locals and overnight guests who choose to stay in our bedrooms - whether that's for al fresco food when the sun is out, Sunday roasts or celebrations. You'll be in charge of all aspects of kitchen management as well as being the creative force behind the menu - writing recipes that fit in with the food vision here in the pub.

The Greyhound Pub & Hotel has stood overlooking the beautiful Carshalton Ponds since the 1700s. With our pond view Swan Dining Room, dog-friendly bar area and a lively garden space featuring heated huts, The Greyhound is the ideal place to enjoy drinks, a delicious Sunday roast or even just a cup of coffee with your family and friends.
Our hotel has 19 classic rooms and 2 stunning boutique rooms which have a beautiful view of the ponds. What we look for in a Head Chef:
This role requires someone that can inspire a team, to bring out the potential and lead by example whilst being able to develop, cost and produce fresh seasonal menus for the variety of revenue streams within the business.
11. Have experience championing excellent service through quality food either as a Head Chef or in the position of Sous Chef
12. Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
13. Be an active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
14. Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times
15. Be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
16. Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and labour
17. Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams
