Description Job Description Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to join a high profile area within the Civil Law and Legal Systems Division? You will join the Central Authority Team based within the Family Law Unit, this role will afford you the opportunity to play a key role in developing both operational and policy procedures that supports the operation of the team on an international stage. You will also have the opportunity to work with a range of Scottish Government colleagues, stakeholders, judiciary and other partners. This is a varied, challenging and busy role, that will include implementation of legislation and policy development in relation to international civil law, including recovery of child maintenance, parental child abduction, child protection, the service of judicial documents and taking of evidence. Responsibilities Drafting submissions and PQ’s including Minister briefings, working with consultations and legislation. Communicating with a wide range of international stakeholders to ensure continued collaborative working. Management of a team including acting as an escalation point if required, including direct line management of one team member. Provide a commitment to continuous learning and development for yourself and others in the team. Proactively managing and progressing changes in policy. Engagement in international forums and working groups. Providing support to senior members of the team on private international law. Producing relevant statistical information and present to senior colleagues.
