Senior Engineering Analyst – Modelling & Simulation
Join Eaton’s Aerospace business as a Senior Engineering Analyst focusing on fuel system modeling and simulation. Eaton’s aerospace division is a global leader in aerospace fuel systems, and is undergoing a significant transformation as it relocates to a newly constructed facility that will serve as the Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing across Europe.
We pride ourselves as a premier supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary‑wing aircraft, with extensive fuel and air system test facilities that facilitate comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types.
What You’ll Do
* Awareness and knowledge of aircraft fuel systems to properly model and predict the response of a component/system due to environmental conditions (Pressure, Acceleration, Temperature) and installation conditions (Bolted Joints, Seals, etc.).
* A firm understanding of material science and mechanics (Static and Dynamic Analysis).
* Develop boundary conditions to ensure proper physics are captured and perform the necessary studies to learn and understand how the system behaves for all types of loading and geometrical variations.
* Support development of new methodologies and technical approaches as necessary to suit a given project based on customer inputs.
* Interpret aircraft and customer specific requirements and apply as analysis requirements for respective components/systems.
* Assist in defining compliance strategies for analysis requirements.
* Effectively communicate and coordinate with the global engineering team (Analysis Peers throughout the Aerospace Division, Project Leads, Chief Engineers and Engineering Management within the Fuels team) to ensure components/systems are optimized for customer’s expectations, applicable industry standards, manufacturability and Eaton’s internal quality standards.
* Providing recommendations for equipment with supporting justification based on technical findings from analysis.
* Preparing formal reports and flowing technical data to the necessary teams.
* Supporting technical meetings with internal and external customers.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
* 3 years’ experience within an engineering environment.
Required Skills
* Knowledge of Fuel Systems, Assembly Techniques (i.e., Bolted Joints), and material science.
* Minimum of two (2) years’ working knowledge and experience in Finite Element Modelling, preferably with ANSYS.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Working knowledge of Computer Aided Design, preferably with ANSYS inbuilt CAD Tools (Design Modeller, Spaceclaim, Discovery), CREO or Catia.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral), with emphasis on technical writing and presentations, and the ability to work effectively with customers and team members.
* Ability to work in a matrix environment, achieve results and drive change.
* Ability to multi‑task and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
* Creativity, initiative, and a self‑starter attitude.
* Ability to think independently and solve problems with minimal guidance.
* Ability to demonstrate analytical problem‑solving skills.
* Keen to learn various analysis skills and motivated to develop a career in analysis.
Desired Skills
* Awareness or working knowledge of 1D Modelling, preferably Matlab Simulink (not essential for the role).
* Awareness or working knowledge of Thermal Analysis, preferably ANSYS (not essential for the role).
* Awareness or working knowledge of Fluid Dynamic Analysis, preferably ANSYS (not essential for the role).
* Experience with structured and systematic problem‑solving techniques.
* Experience with failure analysis and prediction techniques.
What We Offer
* Competitive compensation and benefits package.
* Challenging projects in a dynamic collaborative team.
* Great company benefits.
* Opportunities for internal promotion whenever possible.
* Long‑term investment in employee growth through Eaton University and ongoing learning and development opportunities.
* Focus on reliability, safety, efficiency and sustainability at the core of Eaton’s dedication to improving people’s lives and the environment through power management technologies.
* Commitment to employee health and safety and wellness, offering the right tools to empower employees to make a difference.
