Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading suicide prevention, self‑harm and mental health research team that has secured over £40M in joint funding over the last five years. Led by Professor Ann John, the team focuses on suicide prevention, child and adolescent mental health, and self‑harm research. Professor Ann John is the Director of the newly awarded National Centre for Suicide Prevention and Self‑Harm Research (NCSR) and Co‑Director of DATAMIND, the Health Data Research UK Hub for Mental Health.
Responsibilities
You will join a highly multidisciplinary team with a portfolio of projects across the NCSR, DATAMIND, and the Public Health Consortium. Your role will involve applying research, epidemiological, analytical and/or programming expertise to answer questions related to suicide, self‑harm and mental health by analysing world‑class population‑level datasets containing billions of records. You will employ a mix of traditional and novel analytical methodologies to provide evidence for policy and practice.
Qualifications
We are seeking an organised, enthusiastic and self‑motivated Research Officer with a track record of producing publications and experience in epidemiology and in analysing large relational datasets. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and a passion for making real‑world impact through innovative research.
