Assistant Accountant
* Location: Honiton
* Contract Type: Fixed-term - 12 months
* Hours: Full-time or 0.8
* Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience

Are you an AAT-qualified accounting professional looking for your next opportunity to make an impact? We're seeking a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team on a fixed-term contract.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Assistant Accountant, you'll support the finance function in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with internal processes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assisting with month-end processes and reconciliations
* Preparing journals, accruals, and prepayments
* Supporting accounts payable and receivable functions
* Reconciling bank and supplier accounts
* Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory requirements
* Supporting budget monitoring and variance analysis
* Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders
ABOUT YOU:
* AAT qualified or equivalent
* Previous experience in a similar accounting or finance role
* Proficient in accounting software
* Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
