Offer description

Do you have a passion for food, farming and the natural environment? FWAG SW provides environmental advice to farmers and landowners on a wide range of agricultural, conservation, soil and water management issues. We are seeking a Farm Environment Adviser to join our Cornwall team. This role will provide high-quality advice and support for farmers in a whole-farm context; considering resource protection, habitat and species conservation, resilience to climate change, soil and nutrient management, compliance to legislation and regulation, protection of archaeological features and landscape value – and all as part of a profitable farm business. With growing demand for our services, we seek applicants who can also bring their own specialisms and experience to strengthen our team. You will be responsible for undertaking farm visits, events and workshops, plus the preparation of reports and news articles. The role requires both desk-based activities and time spent on farm/site visits, sometimes as part of a team, sometimes individually. You will also contribute to, develop or manage projects, sometimes in collaboration with our partners and/or colleagues. If the above interests you and you possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, are educated to degree level and/or can demonstrate appropriate professional experience, please send in your details. We are always looking for potential. Therefore, if you do not yet meet all of the role criteria, we would still be interested in hearing from you. We welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities whether gained through environmental and wildlife work, soils, nutrients, farm infrastructure, farm management, cropping, livestock, Integrated Pest Management, GIS and/or mapping. We are an open and inclusive organisation seeking to improve the diversity of our workforce. Although this is a full time role, we would consider applications from those wishing to work a minimum of 30 hours a week (4 days) too.
