We are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join our growing Tax team in our Borehamwood office. The role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients. You'll also be responding to client queries, so it's essential to provide full confidentiality, transparency, and to exceed expectations whenever possible.
Other duties include:
1. Reviewing and advising on clients' residency and non-domiciliary status, including reference to the remittance basis charge
2. Preparing tax returns for a diverse range of clients including individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and trusts
3. Preparing various tax forms such as P11Ds, PSAs, ATEDs, and elections for clients where required
4. Reviewing tax notices and preparing correspondence to clients
5. Ensuring all client work is completed within specific budgets and timeframes, keeping the Tax Manager informed of progress
6. Communicating queries effectively to clients
7. Staying updated on developments in taxation
8. Undertaking technical research for clients and tax consultants
9. Performing other ad hoc duties as requested by the Manager
About you
Ideally, you will have relevant experience in a similar role, with a keen eye for detail, the ability to spot inaccuracies or duplications, and provide resolutions. Efficiency and accuracy are key, along with strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. You will also have or be:
* ATT qualification (highly desirable)
* Previous professional practice experience in taxation
* Experience of four or more tax seasons (advantageous)
* Solid knowledge of the SRT, tax treatment of non-doms, and the remittance basis
* Proficiency in taxation software
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
* The ability to self-manage and work autonomously
