Working as part of a close-knit and friendly team, you’ll play an instrumental role in the development and success of our Rail Services department by building relationships to maximise the profitability of various Rail Services contracts across the country.
We are a fast-paced business that is consistently experiencing year-on-year growth and need someone with a proven track record in B2B Account Management within a commercial environment. You must be highly organised, service-oriented, and willing to go the extra mile for your clients. Experience in the rail industry is advantageous but a strong willingness to learn about this expansive industry is essential.
The role is flexible regarding location, with regional offices in Peterborough, Doncaster, and London.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities
* Manage a diverse range of customer contracts, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet business needs, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
* Present monthly revenue and performance targets at meetings with senior staff and compile performance statistics regularly.
* Liaise with Planning and Control functions to ensure smooth delivery of contractual obligations.
* Manage customer accounts and ensure accurate billing within specified timescales.
* Review management accounts to ensure services are delivered efficiently and maintain P&L responsibility.
* Develop and maintain relationships with customers to retain and expand existing contracts.
* Assist in developing and implementing new business opportunities to increase revenue.
* Provide cross-team support within the Rail Services team during leave or busy periods.
Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Commercial acumen
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C or above)
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Report writing skills
* Ability to take ownership of end-to-end contract delivery
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of railway operations
* Experience as an account manager
* Understanding of contracts and managing difficult situations
* Valid driving license; occasional travel may be required due to geographical spread of customers.
