Overview
This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements. The post is for an Expert by Experience (EBE) to work as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead on the DClinPsy team, with responsibility to coordinate EBE activities and support across the programme.
Leeds has a longstanding clinical psychology training programme. The team is close-knit, friendly and supportive, with strong links to clinical psychology and expert by experience colleagues in West Yorkshire, and to academic colleagues in the Institute for Health Sciences. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in clinical psychology training is a national and local priority, and this post is based in the Inclusion team on the programme.
The clinical psychology training programme is committed to diversity and is supported by our host Division and School, the only Medical School in the UK to hold a Gold Athena SWAN award for Gender Equality. The post holder will build on what the programme has already achieved in this area and establish sustainable change to be embedded in the programme for the future. They will coordinate Expert by Experience (EBE) involvement in the training programme, including advancing aims to expand and strengthen EBE involvement.
The role involves working with trainees, other members of the DClinPsy course staff, as well as local and national EBE groups. The post holder will also work with the Inclusion team on the programme and link with other initiatives at the University of Leeds, and with other clinical psychology training programmes regionally and nationally.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate Expert by Experience (EBE) involvement in the DClinPsy training programme, with the aim to expand and strengthen EBE participation.
* Collaborate with trainees, course staff, and local and national EBE groups to implement EDI initiatives.
* Work with the Inclusion team on the programme and connect with other University initiatives and with other clinical psychology training programmes regionally and nationally.
* Contribute to building sustainable, long-term change in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion within the programme.
