The successful candidate will assist the Lead Consultant in the performance of their duties and provide support services to professional staff. You will be the first point of contact for the public, utility companies, their contractors and council staff. You will be required to carry out inspections, co-ordination duties and give approvals for activities on the road network relating to the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. Roads and Transportation operate on a blended working basis, mobile and lone working will be required. The successful candidate will be required to travel throughout Fife as part of their duties. You will be based at Bankhead Central, Bankhead Park, Glenrothes. Working 36 hours per week on a permanent, full time basis with a salary of £28,175.91 – 30,691.29. The Person You will be educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at credit level or equivalent, have a full UK driving licence and have the ability to travel around Fife at short notice. You will have an understanding of Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 with relevant roads experience. You will have good IT skills, communication skills and experience in dealing with the public and contractors.
