Location: Leeds As a direct result of Technology Transformation 2025, Technology are looking to reimagine its approach to Strategic Supplier Management and as such this new capability is part of the newly created Technology Office of the CIO team and works directly with our DGCIO's to manage our most important supplier relationships. This office delivers strategic cross cutting capabilities needed to lead a technology organisation effectively, including demand management, supplier management, financial governance and people and talent! Job description Primary responsibilities include focusing on operating and maintaining the relationships within one of our DGCIO towers and owning their supplier strategy in partnership with central teams such as procurement to ensure the supplier strategy moves the division beyond tactical renewals to partnerships and oversees the commercial pipeline of activity across all phases of a commercial lifecycle! In this role, you will be responsible for the Supplier Strategy and its execution for the DGCIO and will be required to use existing capabilities (architecture, finance, risk, legal to name a few) and to develop new capabilities to create the supplier strategy such as improved market knowledge for the DGCIO. The role holder will also lead the relationships and contracts with the "Gold" suppliers which span across Technology, with the objectives of making sure the contract is implemented properly and fairly for both parties. Gold suppliers are those of critical importance, and very high value. This role is part of a small but strategically important team for the Technology Leadership Team, seeking to gain more value from suppliers over the longer term. This role will help manage one or two Gold relationships and report to the lead of the function, operating with relevant stakeholders across the Bank including Procurement teams and Technology SME's. This job entails building strategic links between the supplier and the Bank ensuring strategic conversations are held between in the parties in order to drive strategic change. The primary focus of the role is: Monitor and ensure compliance against contractual landscape, incl. tracking performance and delivery across Technology (15%) Create and execution of Supplier Strategy in unison with the divisional and wider Technology Strategy (25%) Highlight and deliver opportunities which brings additional value, innovation or enables a stronger relationship (25%) Assisting DGCIO's with building financial profiles to assist Budget management. (15%) Build and lead the appropriate level of relationship with our suppliers. (20%) Role Requirements Minimum Criteria This role requires established expertise in strategic supplier management with large technology suppliers. Delivering and maintaining Key metrics that demonstrate success and ongoing improvements. Experience working in Technology Commercial functions, or another similar roles, such as Technology Category Management or Technology Contracts Management. An ability to demonstrate a track record in leading a range of Technology contracts with strong functional knowledge of the technology provision. Demonstrate experience in managing technology suppliers costs and budget in excess of £5m per annum. Strong experience in delivering the regulatory expectations and standards associated with third party management within a technology ecosystem. Essential Criteria Comfortable dealing with both senior stakeholders and executive level programme management. Good collaboration skills, bringing together the needs and requirements from Bank business customers, with the supplier capabilities and strategic direction Skilled in understanding the Business context in which the supplier services are being used or applied, to represent the business areas needs whilst also ensuring we maximise outcomes from the supplier. Ability to understand risks associated with the contractual delivery of the services that have been procured and to work with the supplier and the Bank to handle/minimise these. Ability to develop and nurture Strategic Supplier competences within the Technology teams (and potentially wider) through collaborative working with central functions. The ability to build relationships to get the best out of suppliers. Comfortable communicating with key colleagues, at a senior level, with effective influencing skills. Desirable Criteria Ability to convey complex or technical information at the right level so that it is understood. Ensure Architecture teams are engaging potential suppliers in alignment to sourcing process. Familiar with ITIL and certified at a foundational level; familiar with other such methodologies including Prince2 and Agile. Proficiency in Public Procurement Processes. Expertise in Transactional Processes within a Financial Institution. Experience of business case creation, management and delivery which demonstrates new ways of thinking. Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate. We offer a salary as follows: Leeds circa £62,640 - £70,470 In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below: Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
