We have a brilliant opportunity for a VMU to join our client based near Coleshill. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of fleet services.
Key VMU Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing standards and procedures for the VMU
* Setting and maintaining service levels
* Supervising team members to ensure that their designated duties are performed correctly and in a timely fashion, escalating any problems or shortfall areas to the Regional Manager.
* Maintaining customer relationships and improving response and delivery times
* Updating service methods to improve overall efficiency
* Resolving any service problems and customer complaints
* Conducting periodic appraisals with team members and identifying any areas for improvement
* Creating and presenting regular reports to senior management.
* Maintaining contacts for commercial growth and business development.
* Instructing customers on equipment operation, care and maintenance
* Ensure that the image and levels of service within the department is in line with Company standards
* Ensure that all company H&S and Trade Associations policies, procedures and minimum standards are met and that all statutory requirements including trading standards, vehicle and consumer legislation, fire, health and safety etc. are adhered to.
* Ensure expected financial performance is met or exceeded.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HGV and trailer maintenance
* Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a workshop environment
* Be flexible and have the ability to work unsupervised with a high level of self-motivation.
* NVQ Level 3 or IRTE qualified Commercial Vehicle Technician, but equivalent qualifications considered.
