Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a large NHS organisation to appoint a Financial Accountant on an interim basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organisations financial accounting function, ensuring compliance with NHS financial regulations and statutory requirements.
Job Specification:
1. Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly and annual financial accounts in line with NHS and statutory reporting requirements
2. Support the production of annual accounts, liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy
3. Maintain robust balance sheet controls and manage the integrity of financial systems and ledgers
4. Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support strategic and operational decision-making across the Trust
5. Ensure compliance with NHS financial governance, Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs), and relevant accounting standards
6. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency and financial control
Person Specification:
7. Excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise confidently at all levels across the organisation
8. Proven NHS finance experience, with a strong understanding of NHS financial frameworks and reporting requirements
9. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance colleagues
