We are looking for a community arts practitioner to join our small and dedicated team. The role involves continuing the delivery of Flourish, a three-year creative project (now six months in) that supports male unaccompanied refugees and asylum seekers. The project aims to improve access to support services, reduce isolation, and increase wellbeing.
This partnership project is funded by the National Lottery and collaborates with Communityworks in Undercliffe, Bradford Refugee Forum, and Mears Housing Management Ltd. The role is based at Hive, with activities taking place in Bradford hotels where refugees are housed, as well as at Communityworks.
The project provides a safe environment for building relationships through creative activities, offering space to discuss issues and receive support from various partners. It also helps Hive strengthen local, regional, and international partnerships and share best practices.
Flourish supports Hive's long-term plan to ensure diverse communities in Bradford receive appropriate support and are represented within the organization and the wider community. It also aims to foster greater understanding and empathy among the wider community regarding the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers in Bradford.
This meaningful project offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant and lasting difference to refugees and asylum seekers in Bradford over an extended period.
