Finance operations only works when the numbers add up - and someone has to be the person who makes sure they do. This is a role for someone who finds genuine satisfaction in untangling discrepancies, getting to the root cause of why something doesn't reconcile, and making sure it doesn't happen again. What you'll actually be doing
* Reconcile sales, customer receipts and banking activity across group entities - identifying discrepancies, investigating root causes and resolving them before they become bigger problems
* Allocate customer receipts accurately within the finance system, keeping unallocated and unidentified payments to a minimum and clearing them in line with agreed controls
* Monitor customer account balances, support credit control activity and manage the cash collection relationship with external partners
* Process weekly payment runs, ad hoc payments and monthly salaries and taxes, alongside bank and cash reconciliations to defined frequencies
* Support month-end close through reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts, journal postings and ensuring audit-ready documentation is always in place.
* Spot process weaknesses and recurring issues - and do something about them rather than working around them

The Person
What you'll need
* Solid experience in reconciliation, credit control, banking or finance operations - in an environment where accuracy and controls matter
* The analytical instinct to investigate a discrepancy independently and see it through to resolution, not just flag it and move on
* Strong Excel skills - VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and the confidence to work with large data sets without breaking a sweat
* A working knowledge of ERP systems and financial control environments, with Floqast experience a bonus
* The organisational discipline to manage competing daily, weekly and month-end priorities
