Hays Education are supporting a local school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Humanities Teacher to work with them in the summer term. The role is to start in February 2026 and will run until November 2026. The details are as follows:
1. The school is located in south Birmingham, about a 25-minute drive from the city centre and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos
2. The school caters for children at KS3 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH)
3. The role entails planning, teaching and assessing the Humanities curriculum to a KS3 cohort
4. Class sizes are small and there are 4 classes in total with approx. 30 children on roll at the school
5. The role is Monday to Friday, am – pm and is on a term-time only time sheet basis
6. The school will support training for candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings
7. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner who is able to teach Humanities at KS3
8. You will be able to demonstrate the keypetencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques
9. Hays Education will be able to obtain recent satisfactory references that reflect this experience
