About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a range of supportive and inclusive primary school settings across East London. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them access learning in a structured, nurturing, and inclusive environment. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCo’s, and wider support staff to provide tailored support that meets individual pupil needs.
The role may involve 1:1 or small group support, working with pupils who have ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Schools across East London place a strong emphasis on inclusion, consistency, and collaborative working.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
* Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
* Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
* Promote positive behaviour and inclusion within the classroom.
* Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A genuine passion for inclusive education.
* Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential.
