As part of a growing and agile business, our Soils and Sustainable Land Management team is looking for a Senior or Principal Soils Consultant with a broad range of EIA experience. You will work collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects, lead and coordinate topic-specific input to Environmental Impact Assessments and related deliverables, work closely with clients, develop new areas of business, and mentor others in the team.

Your expertise in environmental management, technical skills, or sustainability can involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality, or noise, in some of the worlds busiest and most beautiful locations.
We work to protect our natural environment and water resources while powering our world for future generations. We are addressing climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity loss, and managing large-scale events like floods and wildfires. Your role will be instrumental in enhancing understanding and sustainable management of soils and land use impacts for projects including energy, infrastructure, development schemes, and public realm projects.

Duties include but are not limited to:
* Leading soil and land use assessments for Environmental Impact Assessments
* Coordinating soil and Agricultural Land Classification surveys
* Producing high-quality work and reviewing others
* Collaborating with internal teams and across disciplines
* Managing projects, resources, and subcontractors
* Supporting tender proposals and bids
* Providing expert advice to clients and colleagues
* Engaging with stakeholders and consultees
* Developing clear, accessible reports
* Overseeing project performance in technical, quality, commercial, and safety aspects
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experienced soil scientist with EIA experience, preferably in a consultancy or multidisciplinary setting
* Knowledge of soil surveying and Agricultural Land Classification
* Membership of the British Society of Soil Science and chartership status or working towards it
* Understanding of EIA and planning processes related to soils
* Strong communication and review skills
* Experience in project management and multi-disciplinary collaboration
* Experience with planning authorities and stakeholder engagement
* Commercial acumen, including forecasting and quality assurance
* Valid UK driving license
* Desired: Knowledge of carbon accounting related to soils and land use
