£28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Our successful Shrewsbury client has a vacancy for an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for entering, and the accuracy of, the companys financial records.
You will be responsible for:
Create a quarterly cash flow forecast for all bank accounts and update/maintain daily.
Processing of invoices, maintaining ledger balances, monitoring all reports in system.
Prepare and process all appropriate payments and receipts through the bank system.
Reconcile the main bank account on a daily basis and reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
Maintain billing and cash processing.
Maintain the petty cash function ensuring availability of funds when required and that all transactions are authorised and processed in a timely manner.
Assist credit controllers with cash allocations and queries if required.
Process and reconcile all company credit card transactions.
Ensure authorisation matrix is always kept up-to-date and all bank transactions have appropriate authorisation.
Process and reconcile cash sheets.
Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of the management accounts.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis for review.
Assist with stock takes on a yearly basis and to audit counts and petty cash records.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will need to have had experience of working in a similar role. You will need strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of online banking systems. Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential.
