The Role
A Your Money Team Assistant is a key part of the Revenues and Benefits team helping to deliver a first-class service to the residents of the East Riding.
Our service must be delivered in a timely manner to those facing personal crisis through accessible channels – telephone, email/letter, or in person (at their home or Customer Service Centre).
An opportunity has arisen to join the team. You will handle the day-to-day administration work supporting the Your Money Advisors.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate would ideally have knowledge of welfare benefits, housing rent, and council tax liability, though full training will be provided.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial, along with the ability to meet targets. You must be enthusiastic, efficient, and capable of working on your own initiative, as well as being an integral part of a hardworking team. Duties include handling customer queries via telephone, arranging calls or visits, maintaining databases accurately, and dealing with housing benefit and council tax support issues.
You will need to be supportive and empathetic with our customers. The ability to stay calm in difficult situations and work well under pressure is essential. Excellent communication skills and maintaining confidentiality are requirements.
A full working knowledge of IT applications, including Microsoft Office, is necessary.
