Role Description
The Port Security Officer is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairnryan. Responsibilities include patrolling and monitoring access control points to ensure the security of the premises. The officer will conduct vehicle and personnel inspections, report security breaches, maintain detailed records, and handle emergencies promptly and effectively. Ensuring compliance with security policies and protocols, as well as providing excellent customer service, will be key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
* Experience in security operations, including access control, patrolling, and incident reporting
* Strong observational and situational awareness skills
* Good communication and interpersonal abilities for effective interaction with staff, visitors, and authorities
* Capability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
* Possession of a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) license is desirable
* Prior experience in port or transport security is an advantage
