We are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dedicated team at a specialist SEN school for children aged 5–11 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. As an HLTA, you will support teachers with planning and delivering lessons, lead small group interventions, and provide consistent, structured support to pupils with autism. You will play a key role in promoting independence, emotional regulation, and meaningful learning in a calm, therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and support learning activities across the school Deliver planned interventions and support pupils 1:1 or in small groups Assist in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs Promote a positive and structured learning environment Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists Requirements HLTA qualification or significant TA experience with a leadership element * Classroom management Experience supporting children with autism and/or SEN Calm, caring, and confident approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or sensory approaches is a bonus Why Join This School?
