Catering and Hospitality is a high achieving department in this successful Further Education College. We offer qualifications to 16-18 year olds, adults and apprentices across levels 1-4. The department is well resourced, including a commercial restaurant, and has excellent achievement rates. The department continues to explore opportunities for growth to meet sector demand.
We are seeking to recruit a new member of staff to lead the operation of the commercial restaurant at the college. The restaurant has an excellent and growing reputation. The successful candidate will have experience of leading a team to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation. The role will also include teaching and training students in the kitchen to support the achievement of their qualifications. The successful candidate will contribute to the achievements of all students by maintaining the highest quality delivery of teaching and learning and pastoral care. The role would ideally suit someone wishing to move from industry into a teaching and training environment. The successful candidate will have the lead role in ensuring the smooth operation of the commercial restaurant, and will also include teaching and training of students. The role would also suit an experienced teacher looking to move into a new role.
Responsibilities
* Lead the operation of the college's commercial restaurant, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
* Teach and train students in the kitchen to support qualification achievement.
* Contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning and pastoral care for all students.
* Collaborate with departments to explore opportunities for growth and meet sector demand.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience of leading a team to ensure high standards in food preparation and presentation.
* Experience of teaching and training students in a kitchen environment (industry background welcome).
* Ideal for someone moving from industry into teaching and training, or an experienced teacher seeking a new role.
