We are looking for Violence Against Women and Girls Wellbeing Worker to join our Community, Health and Prevention Team on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2026. The funding for this role comes from Women’s Safety Unit, a collaboration between West Yorkshire Police, the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership, and the Mayor’s Policing & Crime team, working in partnership to address violence against women and girls (VAWG). The Unit have focused on improving risk assessments and investigations within West Yorkshire Police and are now looking to undertake further diversionary work targeted at children and young people. The aim of this project is to deliver a one-to-one diversionary intervention to a selection of children and young people receiving an Outcome 22 for a violence against women and girls’ offence or an alternative offence where misogyny is a driver. An Outcome 22 out of court disposal is where a perpetrator receives a diversionary, education or intervention activity to avert harmful behaviours at an early stage. The purpose of the role will be to deliver; One-to-one sessions tailored to individual needs. Creative and physical activities (e.g. boxing, music, outdoor challenges). Structured workshops on topics such as:Consent and boundaries Misogyny and gender norms Coercive control and domestic abuse Victim awareness and restorative thinking Emotional regulation and mental health Positive masculinity and identity Digital responsibility and harassment Future planning and goal setting The role will work alongside the wider Wellbeing Team within CHP and including joint working and co-delivery where appropriate to achieve some of the sessions. Our Community, Health and Prevention Team offer therapeutic and wellbeing support for children and young people aged 4-25 in primary and secondary schools as well as outreach settings across Leeds. This role involves working closely with boys and young men. An understanding of the specific mental health challenges experienced by men and boys, as well as prior experience supporting this group, is highly desirable.
