COMMUNITY PLANNING Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) Support Officer SO2 (SCP 28 - 30) £39,152 - £40,777 (Pending Job Evaluation review) Plus 19% employer pension contribution 1 x Permanent, 37 hours per week 1 x Temporary, 37 hours per week (fixed term until January 2027, pending review) Location: Mossley Mill but the post holder will be required to work across Antrim & Newtownabbey MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) are statutory local bodies with defined responsibilities in relation to policing, crime reduction and community safety. They were established under the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 and operate in each council area. The aim is to empower communities to develop solutions in partnership to tackle crime, fear of crime and anti-social behaviour. The PCSP Support Officer will play a key role in supporting the effective operation and delivery of the Antrim and Newtownabbey PCSP. The post holder will assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of PCSP plans and initiatives that aim to improve community safety, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, and increase public confidence in policing and community safety services across the borough. Working closely with the PCSP Manager/Coordinator, Council officers, PSNI, statutory agencies, and community and voluntary sector partners, the role will support partnership working, community engagement, programme delivery, performance monitoring, and reporting to ensure the PCSP meets its statutory duties and local priorities. While a proportion of the role relates to managing externally funded projects and associated financial monitoring, the majority of PCSP activity is delivered directly by the PCSP te am in partnership with statutory agencies, community and voluntary organisations and other stakeholders. The postholder will therefore have a strong outward-facing role, supporting engagement with communities, raising awareness of the PCSP, and contributing to the organisation and delivery of PCSP meetings, events and communications. A reserve list will be created for this post for a 12 month period and if this post becomes available either part time, full time, temporary or permanent within 12 months this will be offered to reserve candidates in order of merit.
