About the role
General Practice Advanced Practitioner at Banbury Cross Health Centre.
Work with a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists and Healthcare Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
 * Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care; diagnose and prescribe treatments and medications in accordance with defined procedures and protocols.
 * Manage acute and chronic conditions, supporting health promotion and prevention initiatives.
 * Participate in the on‑day acute care team, managing presentations of acute illness with support from the duty GP.
 * Deliver safe, effective, evidence‑based care with autonomous clinical decision‑making.
 * Collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated care within defined pathways.
 * Contribute to administrative tasks, audits, risk assessments and service evaluations.
 * Support practice workload and participate in structured development programmes (including Level 7 qualification).
Qualifications and Experience
 * Registered Nurse with the NMC.
 * Non‑Medical Prescriber (V300).
 * Completion of a Level 7 minor illness and/or advanced history‑taking module.
 * Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
 * Proven clinical decision‑making skills for acute and chronic conditions.
 * Strong communication skills, liaising across organisational boundaries.
 * Previous experience managing minor illness and working in primary care or similar settings.
 * Experience assessing and managing paediatric patients.
 * Commitment to completing advanced qualifications, including an L7 Masters.
 * Compassionate, patient‑centred, proactive and resilient, with excellent time‑management skills.
Working Arrangements
Location: Banbury Cross Health Centre, South Bar Street, Banbury, OX16 9AD.
Hours: Full‑time (part‑time considered). Contract: Permanent.
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
