About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analysing financial and operational data, developing key performance indicators (KPIs), and supporting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting.
Additionally, the Data Analyst will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our business intelligence environment to drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation. This role will support both commercial performance and financial process & control improvement.
Main Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Data Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to the CFO and other senior leaders.
2. KPI Development: Develop, monitor, and report on financial KPIs to track the company's performance against strategic goals.
3. ESG Reporting: Support the preparation and analysis of ESG reports, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
4. Statutory Reporting: Ensure that databases exist to support reporting obligations such as carbon reporting and ONS returns, automating processes where possible.
5. Business Intelligence: Design, develop, and maintain a robust business intelligence environment, including data warehousing, dashboards, and reporting tools.
6. Data Management: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security. Implement best practices for data governance and management.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
8. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in a financial or ESG reporting role.
- Experience in dealing with large volumes of data.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly.
- Knowledge of ESG reporting standards and regulations is a plus.
- Experience with business intelligence tools and data warehousing.
