Band 2 to 3 Career Progression – Oncology Pharmacy Assistant, Technical Services
An ideal opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to gain specialised skills within the technical team in Oncology Pharmacy.
You will join a team of oncology pharmacists, technicians, and assistants who are dedicated to developing pharmacy services for cancer patients. You will have the opportunity to participate in new initiatives aimed at improving our service to this patient group.
Applicants should possess excellent communication skills and be aware of the challenges of working within a healthcare setting. Being visible and accessible, with a focus on quality and standards, is essential. Flexibility and resilience are required to cope with the demands of the role.
We seek a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of planning and working independently, as well as being a good team player.
Role Responsibilities
1. Assist in managing the delivery of products across trust sites, ensuring appropriate storage conditions are maintained.
2. Participate in daily duties of the technical support team, including preparing worksheets and ordering chemotherapy from outsourced companies.
3. Ensure the correct allocation of patient-specific treatments in response to worksheets.
The work will be varied and challenging, requiring working to tight schedules to meet targets and deadlines.
Progression and Location
Progression depends on the successful completion of training programmes, validations, and competencies, alongside at least one year’s experience in the role.
The post is based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital within the pharmacy department.

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week.
