As a Gas Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our properties, ensuring they meet our high standards and customer expectations.
This role is a mobile role, working predominately in Barnstaple and Exeter area. You will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of this patch.
Key Responsibilities
* Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and repair domestic heating systems, including fault-finding, installation, and annual servicing.
* Quality Workmanship: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, complying with building regulations and safety requirements.
* Customer Service: Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to our customers, ensuring the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction.
* Maintenance and Testing: Perform periodic testing and installation work, ensuring compliance with current best practices and guidelines.
* Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
* On-Call Participation: Take part in an out‑of‑hours on‑call structure and attend meetings and training as required.
Skills
* Post‑Qualification Experience: Proven experience in the gas industry, with a strong understanding of responsive maintenance.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing boiler faults, performing annual servicing, and carrying out installation work.
* Customer Focus: Experience working in customers' homes, demonstrating a professional and positive approach.
* Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
* IT Skills: Proficient in the use and application of mobile technology.
* Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
* Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with LPG and Oil systems is desirable.
Qualifications Required
* CCN1 (Domestic Core Element).
* CENWAT1 (Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters).
* Desirable: CKR1 (Cookers) – Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.
* Desirable: HTR1 (Heaters) – Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.
* Desirable: LPG (Bottled Gas)
* Desirable: Part L (Energy Efficiency Qualification)
* Desirable: Part G (Hot Water Safety and Efficiency)
* Desirable: Water Regs WRAS
* Desirable: Unvented Hot Water
* Desirable: OFTEC (Oil Qualification)
* Desirable: OFTEC or equivalent (Solid Fuel Qualification)
This role is not eligible for a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS). Applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the role without a CoS.
