Year 4 SEND Teaching Assistant – Chesterfield This role is centred on supporting pupils in Year 4 who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, build confidence and develop independence within a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure that pupils receive the personalised support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The Year 4 SEND Teaching Assistant will play a key role in the daily life of the classroom. They will provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, adapting activities and resources so that pupils can fully engage with the curriculum. This includes helping children understand instructions, break tasks into manageable steps and develop strategies that support their learning style. A strong emphasis will be placed on encouraging independence, ensuring pupils feel supported while gradually building their confidence and self-reliance. The role involves supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and behaviour support strategies.
