Job Description

Band G | £30,236.40 - £32,634.00

37 hours per week, term time plus 1 day

ASAP

Working under the guidance of teaching staff and specialist teachers, the Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) will oversee and coordinate specialist provision for a designated group of students within the Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). The role includes delivering targeted small-group interventions, teaching life skills and AQA-style qualifications, and supporting students to develop independence, self-regulation and a positive attitude towards learning.

The ideal candidate will:

* Have mainstream and/or special school support experience in relevant key stage(s).
* Have the ability to work under a framework set by the teacher to deliver a specific curriculum.
* Have a good level of experience of working with pupils with special educational needs, in particular children with communication and interaction needs and autism.
* Have experience of working closely with families.
* Have experience in developing effective classroom practice with other staff.
* Be educated to GCSE level ‘4/C’ or equivalent including English and Maths or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience to that level.
