THE ROLE An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Operator on the RP5 line based at Greengate. The purpose of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the line, to meet the output, quality and safety targets set by the business. The successful candidate will be required to work continuous shifts (4 sets, 12 hours), under the supervision of the RP5 Line Management Team. You will be required to operate plant, equipment and information systems in all areas of the production operation, including the driving of works’ vehicles, in order to meet production schedules and achieve the required standards of safety, quality and customer service. This work will include duties within the glass making area, as well as the Lehr end, and these tasks may vary day to day dependant on operational needs. You may also be required to cover the short-term activities of Manufacturing Leaders in their absence. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? You must be able to work cooperatively as part of a team, including instructing/coaching colleagues in your own areas of expertise, and be prepared to work flexibly in order to respond to changing demands. A detailed knowledge of a range of specialised equipment and processes including the associated safety requirements and emergency procedures is required. You will be required to undertake the full range of activities required in the area including the operation of glass moving equipment and various size Fork Lift Trucks. Therefore, relevant licences and experience are an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
