Youth Connect South West is a young people's charity working in Bath and North East Somerset and the surrounding area. We support young people to enjoy today, prepare for tomorrow and become the people they want to be.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to lead our Alternative Education Programme. This programme offers dynamic and flexible learning opportunities designed predominantly for young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who are unable to access mainstream education. These initiatives are delivered in partnership with Local Authorities and other education providers.
Key strategic responsibilities
* Provide strategic oversight and operational management of all Alternative Provision (AP) courses and SEND education services.
* Lead on developing new education provisions and ensure quality standards of all existing provision.
* Identify and create opportunities for young people to gain qualifications, develop essential skills, and progress towards employment, independence, and their personal goals.
The Head of Education will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow YCSW policies and the staff code of conduct.

Qualifications and experience:
* Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in education, SEND, youth work, or related field.
* Recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
* Evidence of CPD in education leadership, SEND practice, curriculum, or quality assurance.
* Recognised safeguarding training.
* Senior management experience in education or SEND/alternative provision.
* Proven track record of leading successful Ofsted inspections or quality assurance processes.
* Designing and implementing curriculum aligned with Ofsted EIF.
* Securing, managing, and delivering DfE/ESFA or Local Authority contracts.
* Leading safeguarding practice at a senior level.
