We have a great new opportunity for a Fresh Produce Sales Manager to join a well-respected, successful Fresh Produce company based in Kent. They have developed, through technology and innovation, an enviable business model to serve UK retail and non-retail customers with fruit, salads, and organic produce year-round.
They are looking for a sales professional to join their non-retail sales team and work with the Head of Non-Retail as they develop and expand their existing offerings in primary and secondary wholesale, fresh prepared, foodservice, and other customer portfolios. You will have a good understanding of how non-retail works, most likely dealing with UK home delivery companies, processors, packers, category managers, etc. You will help drive performance across the team and existing external stakeholders, as well as introduce new customers and suppliers.
You will be involved in managing all aspects of relationships with existing customers, ensuring they receive excellent service and helping to maximize their sales opportunities. What we are looking for?
1. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales and/or procurement with a background in fresh produce, particularly fruit.
2. Strong supplier and customer relationship skills, with evidence of a successful trading record.
3. Proficiency in supply chain processes and a good understanding of world geography, with experience managing logistical issues globally.
4. Desirable but not expected: ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish.
5. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work to tight timescales, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
6. IT literate, especially with MS Word and Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus but training will be provided.
7. Confident communicator with a strong, outgoing personality, capable of effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, resolving queries efficiently.
The role offers a competitive salary + bonus in the range of £50k to £75k, with WFH options after the initial induction. In addition, there are standard company benefits.
