Content Strategist, SEO - 12 month FTC
Introduction to team
As part of Expedia Group’s SEO Content team, you'll collaborate across various fields (SEO, UX, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Localization, and more) to coordinate the creation of useful and cohesive landing page content for brands such as Expedia, Vrbo, and Hotels.com.
You will define content that helps travelers find the right information and make decisions, creating content optimized for search engines. Using data-led research and innovative thinking, you'll shape and support strategic content creation from ideation and research to live review. You’ll coordinate directly with partners for content through solutions like programmatic content, Large Language Models, and handwritten content. You’ll work on a wide variety of landing pages and product experiences globally and play an integral role in our SEO content strategy, employing editorial practices, SEO knowledge, and forward-thinking approaches.
In this role, you will:
1. Supervise content creation by drafting content briefs, coordinating with partners, and publishing engaging, optimized content.
2. Adopt and create content guidelines, participate in feedback loops, and edit content to ensure high-quality, impactful outputs.
3. Support content quality governance and SEO impact of high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives, including GenAI-generated content and its distribution.
4. Perform SEO and content research, including competitor analysis, keyword research, gap analysis, and content ideation to identify growth opportunities.
5. Support the team’s data-driven framework by coordinating testing and analyzing performance data to inform decisions.
6. Collaborate with the content and SEO teams to develop and implement smart content solutions aligned with SEO strategies.
7. Conduct regular SEO audits to identify improvement opportunities and implement necessary changes.
8. Communicate effectively with internal and external teams on shared goals.
9. Stay updated on industry trends, search engine algorithms, and best practices to refine content strategies.
10. Share ideas and feedback to enhance processes, strategies, and execution.
Experience and qualifications:
* At least 2 years of experience in SEO, digital content management, or content strategy.
* Understanding of organic search optimization principles.
* Experience in authoring or editing content for landing pages with a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience with SEO tools for keyword research.
* Experience working with Content Management Systems.
* Strong organizational and project management skills.
* Preference for understanding writing for a global audience.
* Interest in SEO and landing page content strategy (not a copywriting role).
* Experience or interest in working with Large Language Models/GenAI.
* Degree or equivalent in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
* A passion for content, new technology, and digital trends.
