Our client, a successful and growing small business in Stockport, is seeking a confident and reliable Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.
About the Role
This is a varied and autonomous position suited to someone who enjoys being fully involved in the transactional running of a finance function. You will take responsibility for all daily accounting duties and support the month‑end close process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Full ownership of daily transactional finance
2. Accounts Payable: processing invoices, payment runs, supplier account maintenance
3. Accounts Receivable: raising invoices, allocating payments, managing aged debt
4. Credit Control: proactive chasing of outstanding balances
5. Bank Reconciliation: daily and monthly reconciliations across multiple accounts
6. Responding to and resolving customer and supplier queries efficiently
7. Closing ledgers at month end
8. Assisting with the trial balance and supporting the accountant with month-end preparation
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrive in a smaller, hands‑on environment. With a proven and recent track record in transactional invoicing and processing, you will offer a high attention to detail, be able to use your own initiative and offer an upbeat, personable and enthusiastic approach.
