About the Role:
As a Fire Door Compliance Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, upgrading, and inspection of fire doors to ensure they meet all current fire safety regulations. Your work will be vital in protecting lives and property in the event of a fire.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install and fit new fire doors to the latest regulatory standards.
* Inspect and assess existing fire doors for wear, damage, or non-compliance.
* Perform maintenance and repairs to ensure fire doors maintain full integrity and function.
* Upgrade fire doors as needed to meet evolving compliance standards.
* Document inspections and works completed, producing reports for clients and internal use.
* Ensure all work complies with UK fire safety legislation, including BS 476, BS EN 1634, and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
* Liaise with clients, site managers, and compliance officers to ensure a high standard of service.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in fire door installation, maintenance, and inspection.
* Strong knowledge of relevant fire safety regulations and compliance requirements.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry/Joinery or equivalent (preferred).
* FIRAS, BM TRADA or equivalent fire door installation/inspection accreditation (desirable).
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel and work away is essential.
