One year fixed term role supporting the education of medical students and foundation doctors. This role is split into 80% clinical and 20% Education.
The successful applicant will be offered the opportunity to gain experience in the specialty of their choice subject to specific choice, practicalities and availability.
This vacancy is for individuals currently employed as an F2 or ST1/CT1 Resident Doctor or Trust Grade F2/ST1 Locally Employed Doctor.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for contributing to the development, delivery and quality assurance of teaching medical students and foundation doctors. Whilst gaining further experience in medicine, supporting the safe staffing of wards and medical on call.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post requires the holder to be responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of teaching to medical students, as well as supporting and creating learning opportunities for doctors in training, trainee physicians’ associates and liaising with educational leads for other roles. This may include remote regional training opportunities with other trusts. It is expected that the post holder will provide training to areas such as, structured bedside teaching, simulation teaching and case-based discussions. It is expected of the Education Fellow to be able to deliver lectures based on learning objectives and introduction to the foundation programme and to create mock OSCE prior to the medical students’ finals.
The postholder will also be part of the Urgent and Integrated Care Medicine team, providing a core service to help support the safe delivery of care to the medical wards and the acute unselected medical on-call rota. The postholder will be able to gain experience in a wide range of patients whilst being supported by the appropriate junior and senior team; ward duties will represent most of the candidates working time, including consultant-led ward round; on-call duties will make up the rest.

* Medical degree (MBBS, MChB or equivalent)
* Full GMC registration and a license to practice
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* At least 1 years clinical experience in medicine
* Up to 1 year clinical experience in UK
* Experience of multidisciplinery working
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of assisting in or training in medical procedures
* Evidence of experience in NHS discharge planning
Current Skills & Abilites

* Evidence and understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
* Evidence of good oral and written English
