Job Description
3. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
4. Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
5. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
6. Maintain and update financial records and documentation.
7. Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
8. Process key supplier payment runs weekly
9. Prepare and submit VAT returns and other compliance documents.
10. Collaborate with the wider accounting and finance team to ensure smooth operations.
11. Provide support during internal and external audits.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
12. A recognised qualification or studying towards AAT
13. Previous experience in a similar accounting role within the retail sector is advantageous.
14. Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
15. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
16. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
17. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
