We are looking for a Patient Services Advisor to join our busy Doctors surgery which is a dual site practice. Reporting to the Practice Service Manager, the Receptionist will work as part of a friendly team, to achieve a smooth running and efficient surgery for both GPs and patients and to provide all necessary administrative support required by the Practice.
Job Responsibilities:
Administration
· To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.
· To work in accordance of written protocols.
Telephone / Reception
· Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
· Working front of house on reception desk welcoming and assisting with patient queries and appointments
· Incoming / outgoing telephone calls
· Administrative duties including tasks, summarising, clinic booking and registrations
· Process appointment requests from patients using a computerised Total Triage system.
· Process patient's requests such as change of address computer data and medical records (have knowledge of practice area).
· Process repeat prescription request in accordance with practice guidelines.
· Have working knowledge of telephone system, during and after hours, taking messages and redirecting queries as appropriate.
· Screening of all incoming post and forwarding to appropriate team to action.
· Process payments in line with cash handling procedures.
Personal/Professional Development:
Participate in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment, such training to include:

* Taking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.

Hours & Shifts
We are ideally looking for 1 candidate to join us on a full time basis, however will considering splitting this as 2 part time roles for the right candidates.
You will be required to work at both sites, so access to transport is essential.

Salary is currently £12.23 ph increasing to £12.40 after successful completion of probationary period. However this will soon be updated alongside the new national living wage
If a registered patient at the Practice and successful in your application, you will be required to re-register with another local Practice.
