About the Role - SEN Teaching Assistant - Chippenham
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Chippenham, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including ASD, learning difficulties, and communication needs.
This role is centred around building positive relationships, promoting engagement, and supporting pupils to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis within the classroom
Assisting with differentiated learning activities
Encouraging communication, independence, and social development
Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
Working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate - SEN Teaching Assistant - Chippenham
Empathetic, patient, and proactive
Passionate about SEN and supporting young people
A strong communicator and team player
Background in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Care, or similar (desirable)
Experience in SEN, care, youth work, or mental health settings (beneficial but not essential)Candidates with experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in support-based roles will be highly beneficial. We also welcome applicants from care, youth work, or psychology backgrounds, as well as those with experience supporting EHCP-led provision (desirable, not essential).
