Job Details
Role: Female* Crisis House Peer Support Worker (3 posts) across Bath & North East Somerset and Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), based in North Wiltshire and Swindon. Employment type: Full-time, permanent 37.5 hours per week across rotating shifts (days, evenings and sleep-ins) to meet service needs. Salary: £24,765 per annum, rising to £25,116 per annum after successful completion of a 6-month probation. Plus £70 per sleep-in (1 sleep-in per week expected) and other benefits.
Established in 1983, Missing Link is a leading provider of Housing and Support Services to women with mental health and housing-related support needs in Bristol. Missing Link is the parent organisation to NEXT LINK domestic abuse services and SAFE LINK sexual violence services.

Role purpose and responsibilities
We are looking to recruit 3 Female* Peer Support Workers at our Mental Health Service in North Wiltshire and Swindon. You will work as part of the Mental Health Framework that complements primary and secondary care and participates as a partner within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership (a collaboration including Alabarè, Second Step and Nilaari).
* Deliver person-centred support, collaboratively developing and reviewing care plans focused on recovery and personal goals.
* Work inclusively and equitably with all service users; ensure cultural sensitivity, challenge stigma, and advocate where needed.
* Monitor mental health, ensure timely intervention, engage with multi-disciplinary teams, and offer harm-minimisation support.
* Assist in crisis management, responding to emergency situations with calm, professional intervention.
* Promote coping mechanisms and self-management strategies to support independence and resilience.
* Work within a recovery and psychologically informed approach to maximise safety, independence and wellbeing for women.
* Liaise effectively with appropriate agencies and community groups.
* Take part in the assessment of referred women; gather information from supporting agencies as needed.
* Build trust and rapport using personal lived experience to provide emotional and practical support.

* Understanding of cultural diversity.
* Strong understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems.
* Experience living with or supporting someone with mental health issues, including understanding barriers to meaningful living.
* Ability to signpost appropriately.
* Full driving licence (business use) and access to transport.
