Our client is currently recruiting a Civil Design Project Manager to join their specialist Civil Engineering contracting business. The company that the Civil Design Project Manager will be working for are a well-established Civil Engineering contractor, whom work on projects from conception through construction to project delivery. The companies’ specialities span across a variety of different sectors including water and waste water, infrastructure and coastal protection. The Civil Design Project Manager will be working on a prestigious project on a new Reservoir in Hampshire.
Civils Design Project Manager Job Overview
Lead and coordinate the design team, managing the programme and resolving technical conflicts between design packages.
Identify and assess risks across design interfaces, evaluating commercial, operational and practical impacts.
Chair internal and client-facing design review meetings, driving actions and outcomes.
Oversee design delivery in a BIM environment and ensure full alignment with project goals.
Define and manage project deliverables including asset information, 3D models, MEICA specifications and O&M manuals.
Review all design submissions prior to client issue.
Undertake site asset surveys at both initial scoping and final commissioning stages.
Participate in design progress, tender handover, and pre-start meetings.
Approve design consultant payment applications.
Engage stakeholders to ensure timely and coordinated delivery of all design elements, both temporary and permanent.
Civils Design Project Manager Job Requirements
Minimum 3 years' post-graduate experience in the wastewater or infrastructure sector.
Demonstrable people management skills.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC3, NEC4 and JCT contracts.
Proficient in MS Project or Primavera for project planning.
Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Infraworks, and ReCap Pro.
Familiarity with cloud-based CDEs such as BIM 360.
