Job Context The Alzheimer's opportunity is one of the most exciting prospects because of the size of the unmet need. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is one of the leading causes of death in the UK, with no current medications for cure or prevention. Following 30 years of investment in AD research and development across both therapeutics and diagnostics, Lilly hope to launch a new therapy in 2024. The UK ecosystem presents a challenging environment such early AD treatments at this time, with no acceptably defined diagnostic and treatment pathway for early AD. The Alzheimer's Ecosystem Manager (AEM) will be a critical member of the team to maximize opportunities for patient access to our Alzheimer's portfolio by identifying and removing system barriers, communicating the value our portfolio brings to local health systems, and fostering collaborative projects between Lilly and the NHS to improve patient outcomes. - The successful candidate will need to be fluid to a changing environment and strategic priorities and have the opportunity in a changing regional NHS structure to find both practical and financial solutions) to foster collaboration with NHS organization to overcome challenges to deliver innovative treatment, whilst adhering to the ABPI code of practice. Key Responsibilities Mapping Diagnostic (Dx) & Treatment (Tx) ecosystem Actively shape Dx & Tx pathway, including referral pathways, service redesign and finding solutions addressing capacity constraints. Remove barriers to early and accurate Dx. Tx delivery and monitoring Identifying and supporting on Collaborative Working projects with Health Innovation team (HTI) that will improve patient care and/or benefit the NHS. Seek out and prioritise priority partnership / collaboration opportunities, aligned to our brand & therapy expertise. Identify the right activity and establish the programme(s) and deliver with the support of the cross functional team including; Pricing Reimbursement and Access (PRA), Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Brand and Medical. Partner with providers to design & deliver local solutions and services to overcome Dx & Tx challenges Responsible for forming local alliances to further shape the environment. Active formulary management: Develop Priority Account plans across brand and ensure agreed market access objectives are locally delivered. Build and maintain strong partnerships with key customers and serve as primary point of contact for payers within key NHS organisations- particularly, medicines management, commissioners and hospital pharmacy. Develop a deep understanding of brand payer value propositions and the "toolkit" of Lilly resources and be able to confidently position with key customers, tailor the value proposition to payer needs and suggest appropriate potential payer partnership programmes to add value. Use business information to identify variance in local account performance and collaborate on tactical plans to maximise performance. Maintain a deep understanding of key accounts: revenue sources, key customers, service structure & deliverables, competitors, financial goals, commissioning process, financial flows (as available from public sources), and objectives. Identify relevant opportunities to mobilise other functions into the account to drive further value (medical, health outcomes, partnership projects etc) Be a subject matter expert on the NHS and Commercial environment in the local health economy. Communicate internally market intelligence through both proactively working with PRA Managers to use local experience to create, improve, and tailor Payer Materials Tools & Alternative Access Programs ( AAPs) and lead across the wider business through our regular field team review process. Work closely with Omnichannel Engagement OCE team sharing insights and identify how digital communication can be continuously improved to support payers and patient access. Work with customers to identify unmet need and also internal stakeholders to develop sustainable non-promotional solutions such as Donations Basic requirements: ABPI qualified with experience of UK pharmaceutical industry, compliance and code of practice Degree level education, preferably life sciences. Additional requirements: Previous experience in senior pharmaceutical roles e.g. sales/ market access/ commercial/policy Previous experience working for the NHS in a joint working, or project manager capacity Prior project management experience in a complex, and highly matrixed organization Strong leadership and ability to work across, and influence, a complex range of internal & external stakeholders. Comfortable interacting and communicating with clinical thought leaders and payer KOLs Able to collaborate strongly across other internal functions such as medical, marketing, therapy business leads, sales colleagues to deliver holistic solutions for your region. Work closely with MCE team sharing insights and identify how digital communication can be developed to support payers and patient access Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships Display deep understanding of local policy and environmental trends that influence customer decision-makers. Have a deep understanding on NHS funding and budget structure Business acumen developed through strong analytical and business planning skills with high level of data /IT system use Confident with the use of alternative appropriate channels of communication and the use of virtual customer communication to drive efficiencies and improve customer experience Demonstrate ability to lead & facilitate Account Planning & Review process through effective prioritization of accounts and alignment of brand strategy Demonstrate collaborative negotiation skills Ability to accurately record and communicate changing environmental positions using agreed knowledge management systems Demonstrate Strategic Account Management, Negotiation skills and other KAM techniques. Display knowledge of pharmaco-economic principles and the application of health economic tools Ability to accurately forecast and make business case for requirements in key account project plan or projects Understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and what activities are permissible in a pre and post licence settings Flexible and fluid - comfortable working with ambiguity and adapt to changing strategic priorities.
