Kootenay Lake Regional Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Switchboard Operator | Registration Clerk to join their team. This position works rotating days and evenings with shifts such as 06:45 to 13:00, 06:45 to 14:45, 06:45 to 14:53, 13:00 to 21:00, 13:00 to 21:08, 14:45 to 21:00, and 07:30 to 14:30.

What Will You Work On?
In this role, you will perform a variety of switchboard, registration, and cashier duties such as:
* Operate switchboard and public address system and other paging device systems;
* Receive and direct patients and visitors;
* Respond to and monitor hospital alarms and emergency codes;
* Maintain physician on-call/vacation lists and other hospital staff;
* Patient registration;
* Admitting clerical duties with bed booking options;
* Cashier duties - receiving payments, recording payments in cash journals and/or summary sheets, and issuing change and receipts;
* Receive, check, and deposit patient valuables for safekeeping.
What should your application include?
* A 5-minute typing test (45+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months (non-supervised tests not accepted). For testing details, see the application instructions.
* Your Resume outlining two years of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
* A Cover Letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on-call, casual work (i.e., days of the week).
