What You'll Be Doing
You’ll lead the engagement and management of relationships with the retail teams, primarily Director of Stores, Area and Store Managers. You’ll provide the one point of contact for queries on the store layout in a given region / project. You will manage the store development plan for a given geographical location, taking accountability for the production of the customer‑focused layout and the commercial viability for all store investment schemes. This role covers South of England; candidates will need to travel within this region on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide a point of contact for retail colleagues, demonstrating expertise regarding the customer offer.
* Produce a high‑standard CAD layout that aligns to the store‑specific brief.
* Produce macro and micro layouts that show space blocking for senior sign‑off.
* Engage with the Store Development Manager and other central stakeholders to agree on the right solution when brief and scope cannot be met.
* Provide store layout outputs, commercial benefits and local insights to support a desktop value case for any given store.
* Provide the Store Development Field Manager with a valid and valued challenge to the given scope.
* Communicate how the store fits in its market, the context it operates in, and the footfall drivers.
* Review and learn from intervention activity to influence the wider team and future schemes.
What You’ll Need to Have (Our Must‑Haves)
* Commercial awareness.
* Confident communication skills: 1:1 and group engagement – impact and influence.
* Numerate and analytical: Understanding of proposition value case and how a change in store is delivered.
* Problem solving: Trade‑off competing priorities, be proactive in seeking solutions.
* Spatial awareness: Able to translate a 2D layout into a 3D customer offer.
* Self‑starter and leader in the development of a project.
* Understanding of retail operations, ideally first hand (significant trading / stores experience).
* Clean driving licence for widespread travel.
* CAD skill would be an advantage but not essential; training can be provided.
