Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Credit Control Manager, you will create impact in our Accounts Receivable team, within the Finance department. You'll manage a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring outstanding debts are followed up and resolved in a timely manner. This is a client- and debtor-facing role, where you will identify potential payment issues early, and elevate pressure points where necessary.
During this time, you’ll take on a hands‑on role with early exposure to international clients, supported by structured training and regular one‑to‑one development meetings. The initial contract is a full‑time, six‑month fixed‑term contract.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, following up outstanding invoices in line with agreed payment terms.
* Maintain and update the accounts receivable ledger.
* Handle customer queries and disputes, resolving issues promptly while maintaining positive client relationships.
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
* Assist in assessing customer creditworthiness by conducting credit checks and supporting risk evaluations.
* Work closely with internal teams to resolve billing issues, contribute to process improvements, and support audit requirements and the preparation of financial reports.
Qualifications
* Approximately 1 or 2 years’ experience in a credit control or similar finance role.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to manage challenging conversations.
* When faced with a problem, you collaborate with the appropriate people to evaluate different options and find practical solutions.
* You embrace challenges as opportunities and seek feedback to enhance your skills.
