Salary: €30,000-€40,000 FTE (depending on experience)

Contract: Fixed Term

Start Date: Immediate

Hours: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexi-Time Options Available

About the Role

All Care Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our small, supportive team in Killarney. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who values a friendly work environment, enjoys working closely with clients and their pets, and wants to make a meaningful contribution in a community-focused setting.

Whether you're recently qualified, looking to return to practice, or an experienced locum interested in more stable hours, we're happy to tailor the role to suit the right candidate.

This is a fixed-term position, with flexible working hours to accommodate full-time, part-time, or flexi-time preferences.

About Us

We are a well-established small animal practice based in the scenic town of Killarney, Co. Kerry. Founded in 1983, we've been providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to local pets for over four decades.

Our clinic is fully equipped to deliver a broad range of services including:
1. Laparoscopic procedures
2. Orthopaedic surgeries
3. In-house diagnostic imaging and laboratory (x-ray, blood analysers)
4. Full dental facilities

We're a small, experienced team and our approach is very much centred around personalised, long-term relationships with clients, with an emphasis on continuity of care and building trust in the community.

Key Responsibilities

This is a varied nursing role involving both clinical and client-facing duties, including:
5. Nurse consultations: including post-op checks, weight clinics, dental checks, puppy and kitten health advice, and other preventative care services
6. Anaesthesia monitoring and patient prep for surgical and diagnostic procedures
7. Inpatient care: monitoring, administering medications, fluid therapy, and patient observation
8. Reception and client support: assisting with bookings, taking calls, updating records, and managing client enquiries
9. General clinic maintenance: ensuring equipment is clean and functional, stock control, and supporting day-to-day clinic operations

You'll have the opportunity to work in all areas of practice, develop your skills further, and contribute to a team that genuinely values high standards and teamwork.

Who We're Looking For

We're open to applications from:
10. Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) or those with equivalent qualifications
11. Recent graduates looking to build confidence in a supportive, hands-on setting
12. Experienced nurses seeking a more flexible, community-focused role
13. Locum nurses looking for some short-term structure

A good attitude, willingness to work as part of a small team, and a genuine interest in patient care are more important to us than years of experience.

Inclusivity Statement

All Care Veterinary Hospital is committed to building an inclusive and respectful workplace. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. If you have any particular needs or would like to discuss accessibility during the recruitment process, we're happy to accommodate.
